ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic set off is representational. But art to me is not just a product of imitation of the visible nature but an objectification of the idea of nature. I often break down parts of the motive and sometimes let it fade out to a point where it becomes pure surface, where the natural focus of the figuration is counterposed the presence of flat areas. I look for a state between things, where the in-between is in focus.
In my motives I explore the idea of the natural.I’m interested in the nature of things and the interrelations, moods and states centered around the idea of the natural. I’m interested in the twists and foldings of reality when nature of things becomes surreal/unnatural/supernatural. Both in nature like natures wonders and culturally related to the way social environments and geography is functioning.
